Happy Bank Holiday

Today is the last day before the real reason I came to London begins...to work. I am no longer working with Mediaedge:CIA. I felt it was too large of a company and would not give me the individual attention that I thought I deserved. So I will be working with a company called Brand Links. It is much smaller. It was founded by three men. They all work there along with four employees making the entire company staff only seven people. I am pretty anxious. I hope I like the people and I hope they like me. If not, it could be a long seven weeks.
When I went to meet with the new company my interview was at 10:30am. I left around 9:30 to make sure I made it in time. Looking at the map it looked like it should only take around 30 minutes. Needless to say it took 2 hours. Yes I was late. Yes I fell...twisting my ankle and stubbing my foot. Yes it was raining. Yes I was sweating by the time I made it there. And yes....it turns out it was only a 20 minute bus ride. LOL. Oh well...it is all about the adventure, right?

The past several nights we went to some nightclubs and pubs. I found a bottle of campaign for only 1 pound and 32 pence, so I will be drinking that probably every night before we go out. Considering most have cover charges of around 10pounds to get in and a shot of vodka is about 3-5pounds. Pregame will be the only choice we have.
I love british accents. Especially on cute british boys...which there are a lot of.
I love british chocolate. SOOOOO GOOOOD. Even if I don't like the other food, I will enjoy the sweets.
Since there are no preservatives in any of the food it spoils so fast. I bought a loaf of bread several days ago. I only had three sandwiches and today it was moldy. I am going to either eat faster of freeze it.
Apparently there is this magical place called Asda that is close to a Wal-Mart. We are adventuring there to find it soon.
I know it has only been a week since we have been here and my mood could change drastically as time goes on, but I am enjoying it. Once work starts the "honeymoon" stage of our trip should be over and we will begin to see into the heart of the culture. That will be interesting. It is crazy though how much we have learned in the past week. Not only about London but about ourselves.
Well I hope you all are having a great time back in America. I am extremely jealous of the weather you have been having. 80 degrees sounds fantastic. I think I get that when I take a shower...haha.
Love,
Alissa

Hi!

Just stumbled across your and Jason's blogs. Good to hear you're enjoying your first week in the UK.

don't you worry - it'll get much hotter in London and resemble something like you had back at home.

Good luck with the job!
